A Safe & Welcoming Community
Hamilton Dismas began in 2005. Following the growing success of Toronto Dismas , Harry Nigh and Brian Childs approached Rick Pauw to see what it would take to start the second Dismas Fellowship. We started small, but as core members (released offenders), volunteers and friends responded enthusiastically to the welcoming spirit, tasty meals, and friendly atmosphere, we continued to grow.
We invite and welcome people to join us in building a community where everyone matters. At each Dismas gathering we celebrate friendship through great conversation, spirited singing, thought-provoking reflections and meaningful sharing.
We are grateful for the collaborative and generous spirit of those who attend which enables us to prepare and serve our meals, cover our basic expenses, and help in cleaning up at the end of the night.
Dismas Hamilton began in conjunction with Mennonite Central Committee’s Circles of Support and Accountability but now operates solely as a member of the Dismas Fellowship Network.
